Dr. Bruce Anderson grew up in London, Canada. He received both his undergraduate and dental education at the University of Western Ontario, completing an Honors degree in Physiology in 1995 and Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1999. Dr. Anderson continued his training by completing a one year General Practice Residency through the State University of New York at Buffalo. He then transitioned to being clinical faculty at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and the Niagara College School of Dental Hygiene. Dr. Anderson served as Assistant Residency Program Director of the General Practice Residency at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo NY from 2000-2003. During this time, he also maintained a hospital based dental practice focusing on skilled nursing and special needs patients.
Four years of practicing in academic and hospital environments stimulated Dr. Anderson’s desire for further specialty training. As a result, he moved to Atlanta in 2003 and completed his Internship and Residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Emory University in 2008.
Dr. Anderson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and an active member of the Georgia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, and Georgia Dental Association. Dr. Anderson is one of the Directors of the Southern Crescent Study Club—a local study club providing continuing education for the area’s general dentists and specialists for the past ten years.
Dr. Anderson enjoys practicing the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including dental implant placement, wisdom tooth removal, dental extractions, oral pathology, temporomandibular joint
disorders, and facial trauma reconstruction. Dr. Anderson lives in Atlanta, with his wife Jennifer and daughter Tegan.
